Since Dan started shaving his head I have been giving him his hair cuts. When Ben came, I cut his hair too. Using an electric shaver makes a good hair cut almost full proof... ALMOST. It was time to cut Ben's hair. A #2 on the sides and a #5 on top. I always do the top first and finish with the sides. All went well, Ben showered and fixed his hair. When examining my work, I notice there was a small patch on top that I missed, so I said I would touch it up really fast. First rule in hair cutting... Check what # you have on the cutters. I start getting the area I missed and lots of hair was coming off... at first I just thought the patch was larger than it looked, then I realized I was using the #2 on the hair that needed a #5!!!Unfortunately you can't really see in these pictures what I really did to my poor brother-in-law, but to say the least it wasn't good. He was a good sport considering when it first happened both Dan and I couldn't stop laughing. Thanks Ben for not yelling!

You are such an Annie! Nothing but good intentions ... always the first to offer to help ... the ultimate in tackling a job ... and then the 2% factor kicks in. That's the tiny amount of potential error that can't be overcome by helpful, timely good intentions. After cutting your Dad's hair for 30 years, I've learned to measure twice, cut once. In your case it's check the # twice and cut once. What a wonderful (?), funny memory you and Ben have to share for years to come. You are the best! Mom
P.S. I once heard that the difference between a good hair cut and a bad one is three weeks.
