Christmas

Christmas this year was held here in Utah. My parents and RJ and his family all came up and stayed with me and with my sister just 10 minutes away we had a wonderful Pousard Christmas. RJ and Danielle always hope for a white Christmas since they live in California, but it never seems to happen... until this year. We had more snow then we knew what to do with, but it made for a very beautiful quiet Christmas.

Dallas helping me make cookies... He LOVES cookie dough and patiently waits for his opportunity to get a finger full of yummy dough!

The first night the adults only went out to dinner. Unfortunately my mom wasn't feeling great so she stayed home, but she soon was feeling better so we think that was a good choice. The next night we went to temple square and to see all the lights. It was beautiful as ever, but having been several times now and the absolutely freezing weather made for a short trip.

Christmas Eve was fun spent together over here, singing carols, watching the Grandkids preform for Mimi and Papa and doing the family gift exchange. I was excited to get running clothes that are meant to keep me warm in the winter weather!! (sad to say it is almost march and they still have the tags on them) I think the best part of Christmas as a parent is playing Santa and putting all the gifts under the tree.

This year was funny when talking with people about Dallas and Christmas. Everyone assumed that this would be the Christmas he would really be into Santa, but he was still too young. Also, I didn't help create the "magic" because Dallas' presents were in our basement and he would play with them before Christmas.

Dan got me a heated mattress pad. I LOVE these things. These is nothing better than getting into a warm bed at night! He also got me a huge clock for our wall... a much appreciated gift!

Christmas morning was fun being all together, then that night we had dinner at Mandy's. We were going to go to Cedar for a couple of days, but with the weather so bad we ended up staying here and sent my parents and RJ with his family back without us.

I am thankful for the Christmas season. It is a special time and I am thankful we could have it here all together!!
